DENVER, CO – November 9, 2021 – BKV Corporation (BKV), a national natural gas exploration and production company, announced today that they have partnered with Project Canary to produce certified Responsibly Sourced Gas (RSG) from its unconventional natural gas assets in Northeastern Pennsylvania as part of a commitment to sustainable energy production. Using real-time, continuous emissions monitoring of well pads, Project Canary and BKV aim to validate the high environmental standards by which natural gas is produced and that a market exists for differentiated RSG products.

Project Canary, an environmental certification and ESG data company, has developed the most rigorous qualitative and quantitative assessment of operations and transport in the energy sector, which allows for the assurance and marketability of cleaner natural gas, known as certified RSG.

BKV will produce certified RSG by deploying Project Canary’s high fidelity continuous methane emissions monitoring using Canary X hardware and real-time data platform.

BKV plans to use the Project Canary emissions monitoring and TrustWell certification, along with other ESG-forward technologies and applications, across their Marcellus operations and is evaluating additional opportunities for its large Barnett Shale asset base.
